Before you Activate Medicare Part B make sure you are signed up for Medicare Part A
You should sign up for Medicare Part A even if you are still working and have insurance through your employer as most people get Medicare Part A for free.
Activate Medicare Part B
Medicare Part B comes with a whole different set of rules you must understand before activating it.
- You’ll pay a premium when you activate Medicare Part B so you’ll want to delay signing up for Part B if you have creditable coverage (through an employer or union).
- Be sure you understand the requirements for activating Medicare Part B at a later date. If you decide to wait, you may have a late enrollment penalty so it’s prudent to seek the advise of an experienced Medicare Insurance Adviser like OCmedicare.
